The LSU University College Division of Pre-Professional Health Programs offers foundational support and guidance throughout a student’s academic journey as they pursue the admission criteria to one of the professional healthcare programs offered through the LSU Health Science Centers in New Orleans and Shreveport, or one of the Louisiana Schools of Pharmacy.
Our team of professional advisors is here to assist students with career exploration, academic planning, and application support throughout their academic journey and has seen successes including:
- 2025 Physician Assistant acceptance rates 4.86% higher than the national average
- 2025 Physical Therapy acceptance rates 18.64% higher than the national average
- 2024 Pharmacy acceptance rates 10.99% higher than the national average
- 91.27% acceptance rates into LSU School of Nursing Spring 2026
Our top acceptances come from Louisiana’s numerous health professions campuses and include LSUHSC New Orleans, LSUHSC Shreveport, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University, Xavier University of New Orleans, and University of Louisiana at Monroe. While preparing and educating Louisiana’s healthcare workforce remains a top priority of the University, we recognize that we are a national leader in healthcare preparation and have had students accepted into numerous healthcare programs in 42 out of 50 states in the U.S. including other elite programs in the health professions including Columbia University, Duke University, Yale University and Baylor College of Medicine.
